Our gardens… they have taken the BonSol more than 30 years to build, and to reach the level of luxuriance they enjoy today. The gravity and descent irrigation systems were designed by the last Mallorcan peasant craftsmen following ancient Arab traditions. Still tattooed in our memories is the work of ``mestre`` Sebastià, remembered as being so enthusiastic and committed to the project that he continued to work beyond the age of his retirement and after the age of 70. The species that inhabit them, combine local varieties of dwarf palms with large date palms, aloe vera, ficus, olive trees, oleanders and an enormous variety of aromatic plants and Mediterranean flowers. In these gardens the greenish hues, are as fresh in winter as in spring or summer, and counteract the colors of the bougainvillea and other exotic flowers. The trunks of large and small trees, the aerial roots, the leafy ivy vines give some parts an almost wild jungle atmosphere, while other areas are are freer, allowing our guests to choose between the cool shade the BonSol’s rich vegetation provides or the warm sun rays of Mallorca’s sun throughout the day. Hidden amongst these, lays an adults only area, facing a breathtaking view of Palma Bay, for those seeking for more peace and quiet.
